We break each web design project down into six specific milestones.
First, we listen to you. Successful engagements always involve clear communication and a deep understanding of the client's business situation. AGENCY 3.0 will provide you with a comprehensive questionnaire to assist us in developing the initial design concepts for your project. We’ll also have discussions about the content you want to present and your business goals. Our goal will be to help you sort all of your ideas into an actionable roadmap that will drive the design process.
Next, we’ll start creating designs. We will take the information gathered in the interview process and develop the initial concepts for your design. This means we'll create the initial homepage concepts for your new website. Each client and project is unique, so we'll create two or more designs based on your requirements. Each concept will present the same material, but in a different way. Our goal during this phase of the process is to determine a clear design direction and give you the opportunity to give us feedback.
Once we’ve gathered your feedback about the initial design concepts, we’ll begin refining the homepage design and developing concepts for the interior pages of your site. If you have a simple site, this means we’ll design a standard interior page like your "about us" page. If you have a more complex site, we will design mock-ups of each different section of your site - your blog, online store, gallery or more. Once we have the various section designs ready, we’ll share them with you and give you the chance to provide us with feedback. Your feedback will result in more revisions before we finalize the designs and prepare for the development process.
At this point, you’ll have completed design concepts for the homepage and the individual sections of your website. We'll ready all of the design assets and your content before we move on to the development process.
During this phase of your project, AGENCY 3.0 will begin converting the design files to HTML and CSS web pages. In most cases, this means we are transforming the original designs we've created into a set of templates that can be used in the content management system that will power your new website. This process will happen on a private "beta" server that you will be able to access anytime via a private web address. This will allow you to track the development of the site as it progresses (and provide feedback along the way). We’ll put all of your content in place and then complete a round of content revisions if necessary.
Congratulations. At this point, you have a fully functional, custom website with all of your content in place and it will be ready to launch. At this point, we’ll begin training you on the use of the content management system and various functionality present on their new website - then we'll take the site live.
Most custom websites take between eight and sixteen weeks. However, we have built entire websites from scratch in less than a week to help someone in a pinch.
Building a new website is a collaborative process. We will need your feedback along the way. In addition, we will need your content and all of the information you want presented on each page of your new website. If you have everything ready and can provide feedback quickly, we can generally get your website done in several weeks. However, we understand that you have a business to run and sometimes it is hard to gather your content or give us thoughtful feedback right away. If you need more time, we are happy to accommodate your schedule, but it might mean that your project takes a little longer to finish.
